Located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi is a town with two Dhams, Gangotri and Yamunotri, on the banks of the Bhagirathi or Yamuna Ji river.

Uttarkashi means "northern Kashi" in Hindi. Today, Varanasi is the modern name for Kashi, an ancient Hindu sacred site. Goddess Shiva, Durga Shakti, Lord Hanuman, Dattatreya, Parshuram, Bhairav, Laksheswar, Annapurna, Ekadashrudra, and many more are worshipped in Uttarkashi's temples.

A well-known holy destination, Uttarkashi is also referred to as Somya Kashi and Shivnagri. It is well-known for its hills and outdoor activities like climbing and trekking. The town is known for its spiritual and tourism hubs since it is thought to be sacred and is located on the Himalayas. Uttarkashi is surrounded by greenery and has many beautiful locations. In the winter, it is covered in snow.

   

Dayara Bugyal is a stunning high-altitude meadow in Uttarkashi, rising to a height of 3048 meters. From here you can sew the magnificent Himalayan view. You must hike eight kilometers from Barsu village to Dayara Bugyal.

You can begin your walk in Barsu village, which is the base point of Dayara Bugyal.

Barsu, a well-known natural camping area, is located 40 kilometers away from Uttarkashi. Accommodations such as motels and cottages are provided by the local inhabitants. Through Uttarkashi flows the sacred Ganga river. Activities like camping, bird viewing, hiking, fishing, skiing, and more are perfect here.
